The Ripstop construction also increases resistance to normal abrasion when in contact with a backpack or vegetation.
Ventilation zones make it easier to wick away excess heat during more demanding ascents. Pre-shaped sleeves support natural movement, elastic cuffs fit better at the wrists, and the adjustable bottom hem helps adapt the jacket to current conditions.
